The course aims at acquainting the students with the requirements of the travel trade through theoretical and practical aspects of tourism, thus ensuring success in their future careers.

Eligibility:
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination.

Entrance exam. Personal Interview.

Rules for admission

  • A xerox copy of the degree mark sheet along with a certificate showing date of birth must be attached to the form. In cases where the applicant is awaiting results of the Third Year examination, a xerox copy of the preceding year may be submitted.

  • An entrance test and a personal interview are conducted. Details of these are placed on notice boards at the time of admissions. It is mandatory that the applicant be present on the dates scheduled for the tests and interviews.


Over and Above

  • Compulsory annual tour for 15 days to give a hands-on experience to plan and execute packaged tours, travel related visits, seminars, workshops, attendance at trade fairs.

  • 3 months on-the-job training in reputed travel related organizations.

  • A full fledged computer center offering Galileo and Amadeus computer reservation services (simulated version for students). Also course related internet facilities available.

  • Equipment – T.V and DVD in the class-room for visually aided lectures.

  • A fully operational Audio-visual room with excellent equipment for tourism related seminars, workshops and talks.

  • A conference room for smaller meetings

  • Liaison with the industry at trade fairs, travel expositions, welcoming tourists from curise liners etc.

  • A bright and airy classroom for regular lectures with a comfortable seating capacity for all students


Scope

Students could work as counter staff, sales personnel, tour escorts, cabin crew, back-office personnel, tour guides etc. and at managerial levels as well. After completion of the course students can start their own ventures.
