- Diploma in Textile Design

Printing and weaving, the two options in textile design, are specialized courses where systematic training in surface designs and fabric structure are provided in traditional and contemporary processes and design concepts. Through aesthetic and functional tests, a student is taught relation between fabrics and to appreciate and develop her own values and design concepts, using her resourcefulness and imagination.
Printing and Dyeing/Weaving is a design oriented course which encourages students to study and practise the different processes and design possibilities.
In the final year, students have an option between screen printing and batik as their area of specialization and in weaving, to learn mixed weaves and coloured effect, fabric analysis and loom mechanism.

To practice and learn different rendering techniques by Spray work for art students.

Workshop
To explore different facets of print making with various mediums specially for Foundation Art students.

Batik & Screen Printing
Special laboratory for dyeing, block, batik and spray printing works. Workshop rooms for screen printing and weaving for students seeking admission in the Textile Design Course.


Over and Above

Study tours to textiles and handicraft centres and allied places. Interaction with master-craftsmen of various disciplines along with project assignments. Creating awareness of the latest trends and technologies. Computer applications, Technology. Opportunity to learn other disciplines where designing is required.
